Buildings where the job is moving goods, and downtime has a price.
Warehouse and distribution construction, tilt-up shells, cold storage, and data center service work. Facilities built around throughput, where the schedule answers to equipment and operations, not the other way around.
Building from the ground up? Two of these categories have dedicated pages with more detail: ground-up data centers (shell through commissioning, switchgear procurement, tier-aware sequencing) and tilt-up industrial shells (panel casting, crane day, shell completion to hand-off). The page below covers the wider logistics program. Making or processing a product instead? See Manufacturing & Processing.
Distribution doesn't pause for construction. We plan so it doesn't have to.
Warehouse, distribution, cold storage, and mission-critical facilities across the Southeast, Texas, and Midwest.
Warehouse & Distribution
Tilt-up shell completion, dock and door packages, racking-integrated build-outs, and tenant improvements inside active distribution centers. We sequence around your inbound and outbound flow.
Cold Storage & Cold Chain
Refrigerated and frozen facilities for food and pharma operators. The envelope and the refrigeration are the asset, so we treat the vapor barrier and the thermal detailing like the structure they are.
Data Center Service
White-space build-out, switchgear and UPS work, generator yard expansion, and MEP retrofits in operating halls. Predictable scope, predictable schedule, no surprises in a live environment.
The delay is almost never the crew. It's the gear.
On logistics and mission-critical work, the field rarely causes the slip. Procurement does. Switchgear with long lead times, refrigeration packages, dock equipment, transformers that ship late. The risk lives in the order desk, not the job site.
We track every long-lead item from submittal through approval, fabrication, and delivery, and we tell you a date is at risk before it moves, while there's still time to do something about it. That's the conversation our clients say they don't get anywhere else.
How We Run It
- Sequenced around inbound and outbound dock schedules
- Long-lead procurement tracked item by item
- Safety planning around forklifts, racking, and live operations
- Containment and dust control where product is stored
- Coordination with refrigeration, racking, and equipment vendors
- Phased work that keeps the building shipping
Cold Storage Construction
Refrigerated, frozen, and ultra-low-temperature facilities where a thermal-bridge gap becomes an operating problem.
Cold storage sits between general industrial and process work. Insulated metal panel envelopes, refrigeration integration, vapor barriers, freezer-floor heating, and load-rated dock equipment all have to land together with no condensation surprises at commissioning.
We work with food processors, pharma cold-chain operators, and third-party logistics providers across the temperature range.
Capability Areas
- Insulated metal panel envelopes, refrigerated and frozen
- Refrigeration integration and ammonia / CO₂ coordination
- Vapor barrier discipline on the cold-side condensation plane
- Freezer floor heating and thermal-bridge prevention
- Dock leveler and cold-storage door installation
- Food-grade finishes (USDA / FDA where applicable)
- Commissioning and performance testing coordination
Distribution networks never stay in one state.
If you're opening facilities across the Southeast, Texas, and Midwest, every site raises the same questions. Will the schedule hold. Will procurement track. Will the contractor who was great in Memphis perform the same way in Dallas.
With Bentwood the answer is the same everywhere, because the process is the same everywhere. Our long-lead tracking, our coordination with your operations, and our safety standard aren't "Tennessee Bentwood" or "Texas Bentwood." They're just Bentwood.
One Standard, Every Site
- Same project-management process at every facility, in every state
- Procurement and long-lead tracking running the same way everywhere
- One Bentwood PM relationship across your portfolio
- Sub prequalification handled per state, transparent to your team
- Live visibility into every project's cost position and schedule risk
Our delivery platform gives your facilities team one portal to see every Bentwood project across every distribution center and cold-storage build. It's part of what makes us hard to compete with at our size.
Have a warehouse, cold storage, or data center scope?
Tell us about the operation it serves, the throughput, and the uptime requirements. We design the program around it.
Contact BentwoodQuestions we hear a lot.
Can you build or renovate a distribution center while it is still shipping?
Yes. Most of our distribution and warehouse work happens in active buildings. We sequence around your inbound and outbound dock schedule, stage materials off the critical path, and phase the work so the building keeps moving freight while we build.
Do you handle cold storage construction?
We do, across refrigerated, frozen, and ultra-low-temperature applications. The envelope and refrigeration are the asset in a cold building, so we treat the insulated panel detailing, vapor barriers, and freezer-floor heating with the same rigor as the structure, and we coordinate refrigeration and commissioning end to end.
What kind of data center work do you take on?
Service and small-package work in operating facilities: white-space build-out, switchgear and UPS replacement, generator yard expansion, and MEP retrofits. Predictable scope and schedule in a live environment is the whole job, and we run it that way.
What states do you cover for industrial and logistics projects?
Twenty-two, across the Southeast, Texas, and the Midwest, with the same process and the same project-management standard at every site.
